My name is Ashley and I am a student intern working on my degree in nutrition at Eastern Michigan University. I am planning a project to study the effect of online diet programs and team support on the weight loss of people in the online community, using a website called Nutriinfo.com.

I would like to invite you to join in my 6 Week Team Weight Loss Challenge project, from Wednesday, Nov. 4 through Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009. Here are instructions on how to join the project.

1. Go to www.nutriinfo.com.
2. Plug in the activation code 6O619 in the group membership sign-up category to sign up for FREE. You’ll be a member of team “Moms Like Me Detroit.”
3. Fill in the information requested (name, age, hometown, etc).
4. Simply log your diet activities on the program, and support each other to be a team winner!

The website program is completely free for two months, and it will allow you to track your weight loss progress, analyze your diet, and see where you and your team match up against other users or teams. Members of the winning team will receive six months free membership to Nutriinfo program ($54 value), and top individual winners will receive $20 BestBuy gift certificate. I have set up many winning categories, i.e. weight loss winners, exercise winners, and login winners, so try to use the program as often as you can and get involved with other team members.

There are only 20 spots open for each team, so make sure to sign up early! I look forward to working with all of you and helping you lose weight and live healthier.

Hi ladies,

I had one person try using the program so far, so thank you for logging in! If you are still interested, it's not too late to sign up. Just follow the instructions in my previous post.

Just as a reminder- you can use the website to log your food diary; keep track of your weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels; record the type and amount of exercise; and share recipes with other users. Give it a try- there's absolutely no obligation on your part.
